Couple without helmets recorded a motorcycle ride and had an accident: The woman lost her life
What seemed like a tender and romantic moment, but in an environment not suitable for carelessness, ended in tragedy
What began as a romantic and tender moment ended in tragedy on the La Trocha de Verdecia – Codazzi, Cesar road. Liliana Paola Macías Beltrán, 23, lost her life in an unfortunate motorcycle accident while she was recording a ride with her partner. The young woman, who was not wearing a helmet like her companion, fell from the vehicle and died due to the strong impact against the ground.
The event, which has gone viral on social networks, shows the last moments of Liliana, who was recording with her mobile phone while they were both moving along the main avenue of the Verdecía trail. In the video, the driver can be heard expressing his love for her, followed by a brief conversation between the two before the tragic accident.
Despite resolution 23385 of 2020 of the Colombian Ministry of Transportation, which requires motorcycle drivers and passengers to wear a protective helmet, lack of compliance with this regulation continues to cause accidents with fatal consequences. The couple, who were not wearing helmets, were not prepared for the tragic outcome of their ride.
What at first appears to be just a video of two people in love takes a tragic turn. “I love you, my love,” says the motorcycle driver while Liliana Paola records her face. She responds: “Liar, now I caught you in loving a woman.” However, he asks her persuasively: “Do you love me?” “Sure, but you do some things to me,” are Macías' last words before the accident occurred.
The accident occurred when Liliana fell from the vehicle, while the recording continued, capturing the moment in which her partner approached the scene of the accident, visibly upset and asking God for explanations about what happened. Later, the man is heard lamenting and expressing his love for Liliana in the midst of the tragedy.
The authorities reported that Liliana died due to a blow to the head when she fell on a scree. Her partner, who surrendered to the authorities after the accident, stated that Liliana got off the motorcycle while she was recording.
Liliana Paola Macías Beltrán, a resident of the Margarita II neighborhood in the municipality of Agustín Codazzi, leaves behind an eight-year-old daughter.
Public displays of affection were a constant in her relationship with her partner, who now faces the consequences of this tragic accident.
