A paraglider, identified as Jorge Iván González, 63, was brutally murdered after making an emergency landing after a political advertising flight in support of the mayoral candidate, Gustavo Vélez.

The incident occurred when González, a well-known athlete and experienced paraglider, was making a promotional flight over the city. Due to poor weather conditions, he was forced to make a forced landing in an area known as Las Brisas, near the Tuluá River. After successfully reaching land, he sought refuge in some local homes to protect himself from the rain.

However, his peace of mind was shattered when a group of strangers approached and, without warning, shot him several times. The local police, headed by the Valle commander, Colonel Jesús Quintero, are investigating the terrible event.
