A woman has reported having been attacked by her former romantic partner at the place where she worked, a case that has attracted a lot of attention in the city of Bucaramanga, Colombia. The incident occurred last Sunday, April 21, but has been disclosed recently, generating outrage in the city.
The victim was referred to the Integrated Women's Center in Bucaramanga, where she will receive psychological treatment and will be accompanied in the judicial process against the aggressor, identified as Edinson Sánchez, owner of the FEILENA flower shop.
The woman, whose identity has been kept confidential, reported that she was attacked while she was working at the flower shop owned by her ex-partner. The establishment is located around Romero Park in Bucaramanga, Santander. After the incident, the victim decided to resign from her employment at the location.
Major Andrea Arciniegas Alfonso, leader of the Purple Patrol of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police, has reaffirmed the commitment of the authorities in the fight against gender violence.
"It is a case of violence against women and you will be advised in all areas to face this process. We reject any act that threatens the integrity of Santander women," said the officer.
The Mebuc Purple Patrol has reminded women that they can report any act of violence through line 155, reiterating its willingness to provide support and protection to victims.
