A tragic massacre rocked the city of Barranquilla when a group of hit men broke into a house and opened fire indiscriminately, killing three members of the same family.
The events occurred in the North Frontier residential complex, located in the Villa Campestre urbanization, in the municipality of Puerto Colombia. The hitmen entered the place through an adjoining shopping center and, armed with rifles, began shooting at their victims.
According to the first investigations, the murderers carried out a meticulous plan, carrying out preliminary intelligence work for several days. Taking advantage of the proximity of an adjoining wall and the ceiling, they fired mercilessly at the people who were sharing in the place.
The massacre resulted in the tragic loss of Ronald Iván Vega Daza, Ray Vega Daza and Rafael Vega Cuello. In addition, Roberto Carlos Vega was wounded in the left leg by a bullet impact and was transferred to a nearby medical center to receive treatment.
During the inspection of the place, the authorities discovered two abandoned rifles and a fragmentation grenade, evidence that will be key in the ongoing investigations.
After perpetrating the attack, the hitmen managed to flee the scene aboard a gray Toyota vehicle, according to reports provided by the Police.
