Ober Ricardo Martínez, also known as "Negro Ober" and leader of the Los Rastrojos gang, has been caught using a prison landline to make extortion calls. The Police Gaula, a unit specialized in the fight against kidnapping and extortion, discovered this activity during a raid on his cell, where a landline phone was found that, in principle, should be for the exclusive use of the prison authorities. .
This criminal kept a list with phone numbers and names of the victims he extorted. Despite his arrest, the "Negro Ober" has been transferred on several occasions to different prisons in Caldas, Cauca, Santander and, currently, in Cómbita, Boyacá. However, his criminal history has not diminished, and he continues to coordinate criminal activities from his cell.
The director of the Police Gaula, Colonel Giovany Cristancho, reported that despite the repeated transfers, this criminal continues to carry out criminal activities, including extortion, from prison. "Despite the complaints and our efforts in raids, we often do not find evidence, but we are working in collaboration with the questioned Inpec to address this problem," Cristancho said.
After the last raid, "Negro Ober" was transferred to the Cómbita prison and housed in a cell where he supposedly does not have access to make calls or receive visits. The authorities for now continue to monitor his activities and take measures to prevent future criminal acts from inside the prison.
