Young woman is murdered by her partner during a conjugal visit

A new case of femicide registered when a woman visited her partner in the Palmira Penitentiary Center

A tragedy hits Colombia again with a new case of feminicide in the country. Last Sunday, April 21, in the high and medium security Penitentiary and Prison Center of Palmira, known as 'Villa de las Palmas', a 27-year-old young woman lost her life in the middle of a conjugal visit.

The victim, identified as Yisella Pérez Gaspar, a native of the municipality of El Cerrito, traveled to the penitentiary center to meet her romantic partner, Cristian Alexis Rivas Sánchez, who was serving a sentence for arms trafficking, conspiracy to commit a crime and homicide.

According to the report from the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute (INPEC), Pérez entered the prison facility around 8:00 in the morning. However, hours later, at 11:35 a.m., an incident of physical aggression was recorded, resulting in the death of the young woman due to mechanical asphyxiation, caused by her partner.

The forensic medical examination confirmed Pérez's cause of death, raising questions about the circumstances that led to the femicide. The authorities are working to clarify the facts and determine the responsibility of the inmate.

Yisella's murder has generated rejection and sadness among those who knew her, while many wonder if there were previous problems in the relationship. Her last message of love, shared on social media, is now a painful reminder of the gender violence that persists in society.

“Regardless of where you are, I will always be with you until the end, supporting you in everything, because I love you. Although the suffering is long, our happiness is eternal and we will move forward trusting in God,” were Yisella's final words before her tragic fate.
