Young man ends the life of his mother and aunt by order of a voice

In a scene that has left the inhabitants of Barrancabermeja, in Colombia, dumbfounded, a man identified as Jorge Luis Hidalgo, 24, has confessed to having murdered his mother and aunt with a hammer, apparently on the order of a voice that he He claims to hear from heaven. The event took place at his residence in the Las Américas neighborhood, in the midst of a situation of apparent mental alteration of the aggressor.

The victims of this tragic episode have been identified as Romelia Caicedo, 56, mother of Jorge Luis, and María Eugenia Hidalgo, 64, aunt on the aggressor's father's side. According to the first investigations, both lost their lives due to blows to the head with a hammer, an instrument that the aggressor would have used in a moment of profound mental disturbance.

Neighbors in the sector reported that, hours before the fatal outcome, they had alerted the authorities about Jorge Luis's altered behavior, but unfortunately the police intervention did not occur in time to prevent the tragedy. The population, shocked and enraged, expressed their indignation at the lack of promptness in the response of the law enforcement agencies.
