Man is murdered while accompanying his daughter trick-or-treating on Halloween
This brazen attack, especially on such a special occasion, has outraged the entire community
SOACHA, CUNDINAMARCA - A tragic scene unfolded on Halloween night in the Compartir sector of the Ciudad de Quito neighborhood in Soacha. At around 7:20 pm, a 29-year-old man was coldly assassinated on Indumil Avenue, right at the northern entrance to the sector. What makes this event even more heart-wrenching is that the victim was walking hand-in-hand with his three-year-old daughter, collecting candies as part of the Halloween festivities.
The victim has been identified as Jason Alexander González. Security footage from the scene paints a vivid picture of the events that transpired: González is seen exiting a barbershop with candies in hand, attempting to cross the street with his daughter when a man dressed in a gray tracksuit confronts him and fires three shots at close range. The footage chillingly captures the moment González falls to the ground with his little girl beside him.
The assailant quickly flees the scene, mounting a black Pulsar motorcycle and speeding toward the center of Soacha. Another individual, believed to be an accomplice, is also seen escaping on the same route.
Colonel Correa, the deputy commander of the Soacha Police, issued a statement regarding the investigation: "We have mobilized a specialized team to conduct an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assassination. Our primary objective is to determine the factors leading up to this tragic event and to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice."
Currently, authorities are using the security camera footage to track the movements of the two individuals on the motorcycle, hoping to pinpoint their hiding location and ultimately capture them. This brazen attack, especially on such a family-oriented occasion, has sent shockwaves through the community and intensified the urgency to apprehend those responsible.
