On a tragic morning on Monday, January 22, the Jardín neighborhood in the municipality of La Unión, Colombia, witnessed a horrendous event that left the community shocked. Diana Carolina Serna, a native of Roldanillo, lost her life at the hands of her ex-partner, identified as Hernando de Jesús Suarez, who brutally attacked her with a machete.
The victim, according to the authorities, was attacked in the middle of a public street, leaving him lying with multiple wounds caused by the aggressor. The tragic incident, which took place in the Jardín neighborhood, is presumed to have been motivated by passionate problems.
The National Police quickly responded to the call and captured Hernando de Jesús S. at the scene of the crime. After the attack, the aggressor left the machete next to the body of the woman, identified as his ex-partner, Diana Carolina Serna.
The authorities deeply regretted the event and confirmed that the alleged murderer had a history of domestic violence and extortion. The Valle Police Department reported that the man caused the death of his ex-partner by inflicting a fatal wound with a sharp weapon in the middle of a public street.
