Street dweller kills man with a club to steal his bicycle

César Belén Sánchez only went on his bicycle to his work in Villa del Rosario, Norte de Santander


The community of Villa del Rosario, in Norte de Santander, was shocked by a shocking case of robbery that occurred on July 24. César Belén Sánchez, a man who was riding his bicycle to work, was the victim of a violent assault on that Monday morning. As reported by the Cúcuta Metropolitan Police, a thief lurked behind a bush and, when the cyclist approached, he brutally clubbed him on the head with a metal tube to snatch his means of transportation.

The sector's security cameras captured the shocking moment in which the attacker acted quickly, hitting César Sánchez, who fell unconscious to the ground. Without wasting time, the criminal seized the bicycle and fled the area, leaving the metal tube next to his victim.

Given the seriousness of the injuries, an ambulance was quickly requested to take César Sánchez to a care center. However, despite medical efforts, the victim was unfortunately unable to survive and he passed away in hospital.




The authorities of the Cúcuta Metropolitan Police have already identified the person responsible for this heinous crime, who turned out to be a homeless person. They are carrying out an intense search for him to answer to the competent authorities for his violent action.

Lieutenant Colonel Jesús Villamizar, Deputy Commander (E) of the Cúcuta Metropolitan Police, thanked the community for his collaboration and any information that could help to find the whereabouts of the attacker, who is in hiding.
