A terrifying case of femicide shocks the municipality of Aguazul, in the department of Casanare. In the last few hours, a man identified as Pablo Abel Pinto Castañeda brutally attacked his ex-sentimental partner on public roads.
The woman, identified as Jessica Michell Vergara Avella, was repeatedly stabbed by the assailant and critically injured on a sidewalk as locals looked on in horror.
The tragedy did not stop there. The intervention of the National Police was necessary to prevent the situation from worsening. About five officers rushed to the scene and bravely confronted the assailant to prevent him from further injuring Jessica. However, Pablo Abel Pinto resisted and even attacked the policemen, injuring two of them with the knife he was carrying.
Faced with the imminent threat to their lives and that of the others present, the police were forced to use their firearms and shot down the assailant in an attempt to stop him. Despite the efforts of the agents and the medical services, Jessica Vergara could not survive the serious injuries suffered during the attack and she died minutes later.
