Two women shot in less than 24 hours in the same neighborhood: one dead and another injured

The Cundinamarca neighborhood of Cúcuta has been the scene of two events in less than 24 hours, resulting in the tragic death of a young woman and another seriously injured. The events have generated consternation and alarm in the local community, which demands answers and justice.

The first attack occurred on the morning of Friday, August 30, when Daniela Estefanía Saa López, a plant worker at a well-known bakery in the city, was murdered while she was in the Cundinamarca neighborhood. Daniela, 28, was surprised by a man traveling on a motorcycle. The attacker approached from behind and shot her, killing her instantly. The young woman, much loved at work for her kindness and dedication, had been working at the bakery for two years.

The incident that ended Daniela's life is still being investigated by the authorities, who are trying to determine the motives behind the murder. A security video captured the exact moment of the attack, but so far no additional details have been revealed about the possible perpetrators or causes of the crime.

Just one day later, violence again shook the same Cundinamarca neighborhood. On the morning of Saturday, August 31, Luisa Pacheco, owner of a drugstore in the Cundinamarca neighborhood, was attacked in a similar way. A man entered the establishment and, without saying a word, using a firearm equipped with a silencer, repeatedly shot Pacheco, hitting her in the face, neck and arms. The victim was quickly helped and taken to a medical center, where she is receiving care and is in stable condition.

Local authorities have linked both attacks due to the temporal and geographical proximity, as well as the coldness of the attacks. It is speculated that the attack against Luisa Pacheco could be related to the delivery of surveillance videos to the Police, which could be key in the investigation of the murder of Daniela Estefanía Saa López. The Interinstitutional Homicide Brigade (Brinho) is working to clarify whether there is a direct link between these two events and whether the person responsible could be the same individual.

The Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta continues with the investigations to clarify the motives of these attacks and capture those responsible.
