The city of Cúcuta is shocked by the brutal double homicide of two sisters, identified as Jessika Ortiz Cáceres, a 32-year-old cosmetologist, and Brigith Camacho Cáceres, a 26-year-old stylist. The unfortunate event occurred last Friday night, December 29, 2023, when the victims were traveling in a vehicle with plates MSN-162.
According to authorities, the vehicle was the target of an attack perpetrated by a hitman on a motorcycle, who shot at least 15 times at the sisters. Jessika Ortiz Cáceres, who was driving the vehicle, received at least 7 gunshot wounds and died at the scene, while Brigith Camacho Cáceres, the co-pilot, was taken to a medical center where she was declared dead.
Sandra Mora, commander of the Cúcuta Metropolitan Police, described the double homicide as a "vile" act. The Police have started the investigation and do not rule out the possibility that it is a settling of accounts, according to judicial sources.
The authorities are analyzing the videos from the sector's security cameras to identify those responsible.
In the images circulating on social networks, multiple gunshot wounds can be seen in a window of the vehicle and the victims inside.
The crime scene also suffered contamination from bystanders who tried to help, making the work of police units difficult.
