Cúcuta is shocked by the murder of Anibar Ramírez Rojas, a 38-year-old Venezuelan who worked as a seamstress in the Aeropuerto neighborhood. The news reached his family through social networks, generating a deep impact on his loved ones in Venezuela, his place of origin.
Anibar Ramírez Rojas was murdered last Saturday, February 24, in a store in the Aeropuerto neighborhood. A man dressed in black, aboard a Suzuki GN motorcycle, approached and shot repeatedly, fleeing the scene with impunity.
Although it was thought that Anibar was dedicated to caring for goats on the road to Puerto Santander, those close to him remembered that he had recently changed his occupation and worked as a seamstress in the neighborhood. Without children or wife, he enjoyed social life, sharing beers with friends every weekend.
Anibar Ramírez arrived in Cúcuta in 2020, during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite not having contact with some family members for more than five years, they remembered him as a happy and outgoing person. His life was based on enjoying every moment and sharing with those who were close.
On the day of the crime, Anibar did not have documents, which made his immediate identification difficult. An aunt of the victim was in charge of looking for his documentation and going to the Prosecutor's Office to recognize him, allowing the family to say goodbye to him.
The motives for the murder are still unknown, leaving the community and Anibar's family searching for answers.
