Police authorities have confirmed the capture of a woman in the town of Argelia, who was wanted for the alleged crime of pimping. The arrest of María Yuleidi Pino Trullo, 29 years old and a native of Popayán, took place in Carrera 3 with Calle 2 in the La Gloria neighborhood.
The commander of the Algerian Police Station reported that the person involved had a court order with a red circular from Interpol for the crime of pimping, which involves obtaining benefits from prostitution at the expense of another person. María Yuleidi Pino Trullo was required by court 3 for the Execution of Sentences and Security Measures of the city of Popayán.
It should be noted that the woman had previously been released by a judge in Popayán, but she was later sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Superior Court. Since then, she has been a fugitive from justice, and in 2020 the Popayán Metropolitan Police included her in its most wanted cartel, offering a reward of up to 10 million pesos for information that led to her capture.
The apprehension of María Yuleidi Pino Trullo represents an important achievement in the fight against pimping and reinforces the authorities' commitment to prosecute this crime. The woman will be made available to the corresponding judicial authorities to face the charges against her and answer for her actions.
Authorities continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of the community and combat crime in all its forms. Citizens are urged to collaborate with the authorities and report any illegal activity that endangers the integrity and well-being of society.
