Young female hitman captured after confrontation with police in Barranquilla

On the afternoon of Monday, September 16, a tragic event shook the Las Nieves neighborhood, located in the southeast of Barranquilla, Colombia. A homicide was recorded on video by a security camera, showing the moment in which a young female hitman shot a man who was sitting outside a store.

The victim, identified as Miguel Ángel Barrera Orozco, was seriously injured and although he tried to flee on a motorcycle, he collapsed meters away.

He was rushed to a nearby health center, where he unfortunately died despite medical efforts.

The incident caused panic among the inhabitants of the area, who quickly informed the authorities. The Metropolitan Police of Barranquilla, alerted by the community, began a chase to capture the perpetrators, who tried to escape at full speed on a motorcycle.

During the chase, the criminals shot at the agents, causing a confrontation. The uniformed officers, responding to the attack, managed to injure one of the suspects.

Finally, the two criminals were captured after losing control of the motorcycle. The authorities seized a firearm and the motorcycle used in the crime, which were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigations.

In addition to the murder of Barrera Orozco, a 44-year-old person was injured during the shooting and is receiving medical attention at a local hospital.

The victim's body was transferred to the Forensic Medicine for the corresponding autopsy, while those captured face serious charges, including homicide and assault on authority.
