Feminicide captured. She confessed to the heinous crime, but denies intentions

“I didn't want to hurt him. “She was the one who allowed herself to be given a knife,” said the feminicide when committing this crime

In a tragic event that has shocked the country of Colombia and the entire world, José Aníbal Melgarejo, 59, was arrested as responsible for the first femicide of the year in the city of Bucaramanga. The horrendous crime took place inside a motel in the Alarcón neighborhood, where Estefany Gabriela Pulido, 26 years old and of Venezuelan nationality, lost her life after receiving several stab wounds.

In a video that went viral, Melgarejo showed chilling coldness when committing the murder, maintaining that she "didn't want to hurt him" and that it was the victim who "allowed himself to be given the knife." The 59-year-old man, who had been in a relationship with Pulido for three years, was arrested at the scene of the homicide.

The First Prosecutor's Office of the Life Unit charged him with the crime of aggravated femicide, presenting evidence that reveals the brutality of the attack. According to authorities, Melgarejo inflicted a total of 14 stab wounds on his partner, eight of them in the chest, one in the back and the rest in the arms.

Although it has not been confirmed whether Pulido had filed previous complaints of threats or violence, investigations suggest that the attacker had shown signs of 'jealousy'. Given the evidence presented, a guarantee control judge decided to send Melgarejo to prison under a restraining order.

The mayor of Bucaramanga, Jaime Andrés Beltrán, condemned the crime and highlighted the quick action of the authorities to capture the alleged feminicide. "From the first day of our government, we gave precise instructions to confront insecurity and any act of violence with results," he stated.

The tragic event occurred at the Las Llaves Residence, where the couple had a heated argument that led to the fatal outcome. The Metropolitan Police of Bucaramanga appreciates the collaboration of the witnesses who prevented the escape of the aggressor and highlights that the evidence on Melgarejo's hands and clothing confirmed his participation in the violent altercation.
