Bogotá: A motorcyclist dies in a traffic accident
The incident shows fatal recklessness, including speeding and violating traffic rules
On the afternoon of Friday, March 8, a tragedy struck the town of Tunjuelito in Bogotá, when a motorcyclist lost her life in a serious traffic accident.
The accident, recorded on diagonal 50 south with Carrera 61, in the Rincón de Venecia neighborhood, revealed a series of fatal recklessness that marked the woman's fate.
In the video circulating on social networks, the motorcyclist is seen moving at high speed and in the wrong direction. In a matter of seconds, the woman, apparently due to speed, brushes against a cyclist who loses control and falls next to her son. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist also becomes destabilized and collides with a power pole, resulting in her instant death.
The impact was so strong that the motorcyclist's helmet was thrown off, while residents of the area quickly came to provide assistance to the victim.
The importance of respecting traffic signs and rules were not applied, since both the motorcyclist and the cyclist were traveling in the wrong direction, despite adequate signage on the street.
