Violence in Cúcuta increases: Hitman murders a woman in front of her son in a supermarket
The events were recorded on security cameras and will be a key piece to find those responsible
The city of Cúcuta continues to be the scene of an unprecedented escalation of violence. In a new unfortunate event, Alejandra Camila Paredes Pérez, a 26-year-old girl, was brutally murdered by a hitman while leaving a supermarket in the Playa Hermosa sector, near Avenida del Río.
The images captured by several security cameras show the moment the hitman stalked the victim, who was accompanied by her one-year-old son. Showing no mercy, the criminal fired repeatedly at her with the clear objective of taking her life.
In an act of inhuman cruelty, the hitman finished off Alejandra with three shots to the head, while she lay on the ground. The scene became even more chilling when witnessing how the little boy helplessly witnessed the execution of his mother. Witnesses to the horrendous event cannot understand how the boy survived this tragedy unscathed.
The victim lived in a building near the scene of the crime, which made her known to many residents of the sector. The news of her death has generated consternation and repudiation in the community.
Colonel Carlos García, commander in charge of the Cúcuta Metropolitan Police, reported that during the escape, both the hitman and his accomplice suffered an accident on the motorcycle on which they were traveling.
In addition, the criminals tried to get rid of the weapon used in the crime, but the investigators managed to recover it. Now, said weapon will be subjected to ballistic tests to determine if it has been used in other homicides.
The security videos that captured the incident will be essential in the investigation, as they will allow a detailed analysis of the hitman and his actions. Likewise, the Police plans to publish a poster with the most wanted people related to cases of hit men, with the aim of mobilizing the community and obtaining valuable information that contributes to the capture of these criminals.
After the homicide, the community and the victim's relatives provided support and care to the minor who witnessed the attack. This tragic event has generated outrage and an urgent call to the authorities to take effective measures to guarantee the safety of the population in Cúcuta.
