Carjacking Leaves Two Seriously Injured, Including an Assailant

A carjacking in San Ramón left the victim's father and an assailant seriously injured. The PDI and the Prosecutor's Office are investigating the robbery

A violent carjacking occurred in the San Ramón commune, Metropolitan Region, Santiago, Chile, leaving two people seriously injured, including an assailant and the victim's father. The incident took place on the morning of Wednesday, June 12, when three individuals followed a man to his home to carry out the robbery.

According to the provided information, as the victim was entering his home, he was threatened with firearms. During the escape, the criminals ran over the victim's father, who tried to intervene.

Prosecutor José Manuel McNamara detailed that during the hit-and-run, one of the robbers was also injured when he was struck in the head by the gate. "Both individuals have sustained serious injuries," McNamara confirmed.

Sub-commissioner Francisco Saavedra explained that one of the assailants "reversed the vehicle, hitting the victim's father and one of the assailants, leaving them both on the ground."

The victim's father, a 59-year-old man, is in critical condition, while one of the robbers was also hospitalized in critical condition due to his injuries.

The Southern Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office, along with the Investigative Police (PDI), are investigating this robbery that ended with two people in serious condition in San Ramón.
