Robber killed in confrontation after attempted robbery

Santa Marta, Colombia - After noon this Thursday, May 30, a judicial event occurred in the San Pedro Alejandrino neighborhood. A young man, identified as Maico Ochoa Sepúlveda, known as 'Maikito', lost his life after trying to carry out a robbery. The situation worsened further when the deceased's relatives confronted the police who had arrived at the scene.

According to reports, Maico Ochoa and three other individuals tried to rob some people who were inside a vehicle, which had withdrawn a considerable sum of money shortly before. The truck, with license plate KTK 774 from the municipality of Girón, was intercepted by the robbers.

However, when Maico Ochoa pulled out his gun, he received several gunshot wounds from his victims, leaving him dead at the scene. His accomplice was injured but managed to escape, and authorities are working to find his whereabouts.

At the crime scene, a 38 caliber revolver was left abandoned, which would have been used by the deceased robber.

The conflict intensified even more when Maico Ochoa's relatives arrived at the scene. In their pain and frustration, they attempted to attack the police officers who were securing the area. The situation was controlled after a brief confrontation, with no injuries reported among the officers.

Authorities continue investigating to find the whereabouts of the injured accomplice.
