Attack in a bar in Bogotá leaves one dead and one injured

On the night of Wednesday, July 17, a knife attack occurred in the La Playa sector, in Ciudad Bolívar, Bogotá, Colombia, in a bar located on Calle 60d Sur and Carrera 18a, resulting in the death of a young man identified with the initials of J. A. C. H., 26 years old, and leaving his romantic partner seriously injured.

The young man was sharing a moment at the bar with his partner, who worked at the establishment. According to witness accounts, at least three individuals arrived at the scene in a taxi. One of the individuals got out of the vehicle, pulled out a knife and began attacking the couple inside the bar.

A security video from the establishment captured the moment. In the images you can see the attacker approaching the couple who was behind the bar and beginning to attack them.

He first attacked the man, who tried to defend himself against him, while his partner shouted "No, calm down, don't do anything to him." Despite his pleas, the attacker continued with the attack, also wounding the young woman several times.

The woman, in a desperate attempt to stop the attack, offered the attacker money: “There's the money, take it, look at it.” The attacker continued to hurt her before leaving the scene.

Relatives of the young woman arrived at the bar shortly after the attack and took her to a medical center. The young man was rushed to Meissen Hospital, where he died due to the severity of his injuries.

Lieutenant Colonel Pascual González reported that the woman is recovering. Authorities are collecting evidence to identify the attacker, who has not yet been arrested. Several hypotheses are being considered, including the possibility of a passionate attack.

J. A. C. H. was a construction worker, known in his neighborhood for being a good person, which has caused great commotion among the residents of the area.
