Armed attack at chicharrones stand leaves one young man dead and another injured
An armed attack at a food establishment in Baranoa, Atlántico, resulted in the death of one young man and left an employee injured
A tragic event occurred on the night of Wednesday, June 4, in Baranoa, Atlántico, when a gunman broke into a chicharrones establishment located on 13th Street in the 20 de Julio neighborhood, in the La Cordialidad food corridor.
According to authorities, the assailant, dressed in a red sweatshirt, gray pants, and black shoes, pretended to be a customer and, after exchanging words with the store employee, pulled out a revolver and shot the worker twice.
He then shot 23-year-old Yonis José Nieto Andrade again, who was a customer at the establishment waiting for treatment.
Both victims were rushed to the Reina Catalina Clinic in Baranoa. Sadly, in the early hours of Thursday, June 5, Yonis José Nieto Andrade's death was confirmed due to the severity of his injuries.
The establishment employee, whose identity has not been revealed, remains hospitalized and is reported to be in stable condition.
Local authorities have reported that the person responsible for the attack has been identified and a search is underway to capture him and clarify the motive behind this violent act.
