Attack on a woman by a uniformed member of the Cartagena Metropolitan Police

A shocking video has emerged on social networks, showing a member of the Cartagena Metropolitan Police beating a woman, apparently his romantic partner.

In the images you can see how the uniformed man takes the woman out of a truck and hits her both while standing and on the ground. The situation escalates when the woman counterattacks, with both being pinned to the ground by the agent's force, while a motorcyclist tries to intervene.

Faced with this fact of possible domestic violence, the Cartagena Metropolitan Police has reacted forcefully. The institution, upon becoming aware of the facts, has immediately activated the route of attention to cases of gender-based violence. The objective is to provide suitable and professional support to the victim, thus ensuring access to justice under a differential approach.

Simultaneously, a disciplinary and criminal process has been initiated to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine possible legal responsibilities. The uniformed officer involved has been removed from his position immediately.

The Metropolitan Police Command strongly repudiates these types of acts, which contravene the Police Integrity Policy and do not agree with the expected behavior of a police officer, who must be governed by the principles, regulations and doctrine of the institution.
